Impressions of Japan
Some photos from our 2-week trip to Japan in late July this year. Haven’t had a break for a while so was extra excited to be going. This was our first trip to Japan and it left a good first impression – getting around was so easy (train and bus systems were super efficient and people were generally very helpful), food was great (cheaper than what I was expecting), and lots of interesting places to see. I was surprised to find autumn hues in mid-summer. Tokyo subway. Maiko at Kyoto Station. Shibuya, Tokyo – one of the world’s busiest intersections. Floating Garden Observatory, Osaka. We cycled through this bamboo grove. Beautiful. My second night dinner – Japanese fast food. We had octopus dumplings (“takoyaki”) on the first night. All nice.
